About

Comoyo is a chat app for Android and iOS designed by Bleed for Telenor Digital. The app is designed and developed for Bangladesh and Pakistan, with expansion to Myanmar and Malaysia.

Telenor is facing great deal of competition and strong price pressure in the world with its core product subscriptions. Telenor Digital, which is part of Telenor, develop new products and services for Telenor. The purpose of this is additional. Relevant here is that we have attractive consumer services to offer along with subscriptions so that value of the aggregate supply increases. Telenor also serves more money selling data traffic than traditional telephony and messaging and wishes to turn traffic.

Solution

The target markets like to express themselves visually and has a strong local cultural language in how this is done. Bleed provided a identity that works as a vessel for all these different expressions, but still communicate a strong identity for the brand Comoyo.

The visual concept is that “Comoyo joins us together!”, and is about communicating and expressing yourself in your own way. Whether it's through image, text, stickers, audio, video or with a smile.

Comoyo is positioned as the simple informal channel of communication between friends and those you will be familiar with. It is very simple and clear in both design, language and interaction, where everything unnecessary and complicating is removed. We designed a toolkit using simple means maintaining a coherent and recognisable visual identity on all surfaces while still being locally designed and adapted down at regional level. Interaction and visual expression focuses consistently on positive contact.

Result

Comoyo was launched in Bangladesh in summer 2015, and was downloaded 500,000 times by people in Bangladesh, within the first two months. These are numbers that are very good and that surpassed the most optimistic expectations.
